Firestep Productions was co-founded in early 2007 by multi award-winning director/producers Steve Maher and Jonathan Doyle . Their collective work spans many genres, from a series of beautifully realised animations accompanying a major exhibition of Leonardo Da Vinci’s work at the V&A Museum to executive production on the highly acclaimed CITV series Pocoyo.
Their first major production was The Infinite Quest, an animated series of Doctor Who for the BBC that proved so successful with children and adults alike, that it was released as a full length DVD.
Based in the heart of Manchester’s most exciting creative community, Firestep’s reputation quickly spread and since December 2007 they have been in partnership with Impossible Pictures, producers of the highly successful live action series Primeval for ITV.
Under the banner Impossible Kids, Firestep and Impossible Pictures’ aim is to push the traditional boundaries of animation as a medium and create innovative broadcast material across all platforms.
Firestep currently have a number of exciting projects in active development ranging from pre-school programmes to historical documentaries and are rapidly adding to their network of already established relationships with some of the most talented animators, designers and production companies worldwide.
