Jon is a lifelong fan of animation, comedy and science fiction. He began his career – with an abundance of lovely blonde hair – on Dangermouse, followed by its spin-off series Count Duckula, and proceeded to work in many areas of production and development on Cosgrove Hall’s animated series.
In 2000 Jon produced and co-directed The Foxbusters which won the Bafta for Best Children’s Series and a British Animation Award in the same year for Best Animated Series. More recently he was Executive Producer on Pocoyo for Zinkia/CITV which won the Bafta for Best Children’s Animation in 2006.
With previous experience of Doctor Who’s animated adventures, Jon set up Firestep with Steve Maher in order to make Doctor Who: The Infinite Quest. He is delighted to be involved with Impossible Pictures as they have a broad outlook on animation – and at last he’ll find out where they keep the Dinosaurs! He is also furiously working on trying to secure a lead role in Sinbad! Sadly he doesn’t realise it’s far too late!
