The Yeoman family are in the middle of a World Cup worst nightmare. Their ancient TV has blown up! Now how will they watch the matches? Not only this, but dad Lennie is out of work and mum Janice is heavily pregnant, leaving children Nick and Sammy having to listen to the second match of the tournament on the radio of all things. Even their ferret pets Bud and Chesnet are ashamed. Pickles our proud hound of unknown heritage is a bit of rogue, and like all rogues his mind is distracted. He soon foils the theft of the Jules Rimet trophy and goes on to become the most famous dog in the world and indeed plays no small part in ensuring that England go to lift that trophy.
